Acclaimed Italian guitarist to  performs Tedesco’s 2nd Guitar Concerto.

Carlo Fierens is an internationally acclaimed Italian guitarist known for his virtuosic technique and expressive performances. Winner of over ten prestigious international competitions, including the coveted “Alirio Diaz” Prize, he has captivated audiences worldwide at venues like the Kennedy Center and Museo Villa-Lobos. Fierens combines poetic sensitivity with dazzling virtuosity, making him one of today’s most compelling classical guitarists. He also serves as a full-time professor at Italy’s “G.F. Ghedini” National Conservatory, shaping the next generation of musicians.

Inspired by Mendelssohn’s sun-soaked travels, the Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90, “Italian,” bubbles over with Mediterranean warmth. Spirited, graceful, and brimming with joyful rhythms—especially the electrifying finale borrowed from southern Italian dances—this music is Mendelssohn’s love letter to Italy, guaranteed to chase away any winter chill.
