About the event
"Opera à la Carte" is a captivating afternoon of orchestral and vocal brilliance, celebrating operatic masterpieces. The concert begins with Giuseppe Verdi's dramatic Overture to La Forza del Destino, a compelling exploration of fate and destiny through its bold brass motifs. Ludwig van Beethoven's Leonore Overture No. 3, Op. 72b follows, encapsulating the heroic themes of his opera Fidelio with sweeping melodies and triumphant trumpet calls. After intermission, the audience is treated to Pietro Mascagni’s tender Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, a poignant reflection of rustic Italian charm. Richard Wagner’s Prelude to Act I of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg provides a majestic and richly textured orchestral showcase. The evening concludes with a selection of operatic arias, offering a diverse and enchanting finale to this operatic feast.
